Welcome to Smyrna Dunes Park, a Florida gem nestled at the northern tip of the serene New Smyrna Beach, where nature meets adventure and tranquility coexists with thrill. Whether you're an avid hiker, a passionate fisher, or just someone looking to soak in the sun, this park offers a tapestry of experiences that cater to every wanderer's soul.

The Iconic Boardwalk Trail

Beach Walks with Stunning Coastal Views

Start your journey with the park's famous walking trails. Perfect for an immersive morning or a reflective afternoon, these trails offer a 360-degree panorama of pristine landscapes. The boardwalk, stretching across a lush panorama of dunes and scrub habitat, is both wheelchair and stroller-friendly, making it accessible to families and nature enthusiasts of all stripes. As you walk, keep an eye out for native flora and fauna—sea turtles, gopher tortoises, and an array of birdlife call this park home. Pro tip: Visit early in the morning to catch the mesmerizing sunrise over the Atlantic Ocean, a local secret for stunning photography and moments of pure peace.

Boating and Fishing

Switch gears to the waterways, where boating and fishing await. The park's location at the confluence of the Halifax River and Ponce Inlet means rich fishing opportunities. Cast your line from the designated fishing pier, and you might snag a flounder, redfish, or snook. For a more dynamic outing, consider kayaking or boating along the scenic river. Rentals are available nearby, and the gentle current makes it an inviting experience for all skill levels. Local tip: Consult with local bait shops for the best tackle options and recent catch reports to enhance your fishing expedition.
